What, you might ask, is a snap-in?
Think of the real world. You bought a great car. Say, a Ferrari 599GTB. It gets you from Point A to Point B quite nicely. But at the time of purchase you decided to forgo a CD changer. It’s not too late: Ferrari will be happy to install one, tomorrow, to make your travel more joyous.
In our world a snap-in is a software module used to enhance a larger piece of software: one that is specifically designed to perform an additional task.

Say you made a smart decision and purchased Reservoir, the Intelliga DAM. At the time, you bought exactly what you thought you needed. Three months later, however, you realized you had to have such goodies as a Price Calculator, Ad Configurator (a real word), or Sales Training module. While all of these are stand-alone software products, they also fit, or transparently snap in,  Reservoir.
